Lake Lanier has over 650 miles of shorelines and expands 39,000 acres across Northeast Georgia. There are 10 marinas and over 10,000 docks surrounding the lake. The southern end of the lake is highlighted by Lanier Islands which features a waterpark, golf course, and conference center. The northern end of the lake regularly host world-wide Canoe and Kayaking events at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue that was host to the 1996 Olympic games.

Football Fanatics
High School, College, and NFL fans will find delight in Sterling on the Lake being the perfect location to fuel your frenzy. Sterling on the Lake sits in the center of some of the states most dominant high school football programs. Just down the road is the legendary Buford Wolves and their powerhouse of athletic programs that are known to make trips to the state level of competition in all their sports programs. Mill Creek football might be the newest area program, but it has left it’s impression on the road to the championship the last few years. Flowery Branch high school and Gainesville High up the road have sent players to the SEC and NFL in recent years with names like Conner Shaw and Deshaun Watson. Sterling provides the playground for today of the superstars of tomorrow.
If you are more of a NCAA fanatic, then there are plenty of opportunities for Bulldawgs and Yellow Jackets in the area.  Just 40 miles from Bobby Dodd Stadium and right down the road from Athens, GA — this community plays host to plenty of tailgates and gives you a quick trip to root on your favorite team.
Need NFL Action? The home of the Atlanta Falcons and access to their annual training camp is literally 10 minutes away. Sterling on the Lake shares their home in Flowery Branch with the day to day activities of this years NFC Champion, and there will be no other community pulling hard for the Falcons than the thousand plus residents of Sterling on the Lake.
